Obituary

Mr. James Earl Hargrove, son of the late Romie (Billy) Garner and the late Stella B. Garner, was born January 21, 1963 in Sampson County. He departed this life on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC.

"Buck" as he was affectionately called attended the Sampson County Public School system. He worked many years at N.L. Daughtry Fertilizer Co. and did farm work until his health declined. If you ever attended any of the family gatherings you knew that "Buck" was known to be the "Grill Master."  "Buck", was a passionate Dallas Cowboy fan. He was also known for his witty charm and his theatrical humor. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Bessie B. Hargrove on November 1, 1995. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Hargrove and Walter Hargrove; one sister, Linda H. Herring.

A Home Going Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel. 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton with Pastor Lynn Blackburn officiating burial will be held at Sandhill Cemetery.He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Bessie B. Hargrove of the home; sons, Isaiah Perry of Warrenton, NC, Tyrone (Nakia) Bailey of Winston Salem, NC, Antonio Bailey of Hawaii and Ramnson Bailey of Fayetteville, NC; one brother, Paul Hargrove of Clinton, NC; two sisters Mattie (Edward) Freeman and Stella Swinson of Clinton, NC; three grandchildren, Tyrone Jr, Kamiyah and Tyquan; his dog and best friend, Rocky and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm with family present from 5:00pm – 6:00pm.
