James Edgar Britt, born on January 9, 1958, in Sampson County, peacefully passed away on June 7, 2026. He was a man whose life journey was marked by dedication, curiosity, and a profound sense of service.

In honoring James's wishes he will be cremated and no services will be held.

James proudly served in the United States Navy, a testament to his commitment and patriotism. His time in the military was an important chapter in his life, reflecting his steadfast character and willingness to serve his country with honor. In addition, James served on the Sampson County Veterans Council and was a member of both the VFW and American Legion.

Beyond his military career, James embraced unique and passionate interests that set him apart. As a Paranormal Investigator, he delved into the mysteries that lie beyond the ordinary, always seeking to understand the unknown with respect and open mind. His enthusiasm for history led him to actively participate in Civil War reenactments, where he brought the past to life with dedication and authenticity, sharing his love of history with those around him.

James is survived by his beloved sister, Cynthia Britt and niece, Summer Garriss. He was preceded in death by his father, James G. Britt, and his mother, Yvonne Sutton, whose memories he held dear.

James will be remembered with deep respect and admiration for his contributions and the unique passions that enriched his life and those of his loved ones.
