James Edgar Black, age 81 of Roseboro, NC passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.

Visitation will be Saturday August 17, 2019, from 10:00 until 11:00 with the funeral services starting at 11:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Alabama with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Jacksonville. Family and friends are honored to serve as pallbearers.

James is survived by his wife, Janie Black, brothers Terrance Black and Kyle Black; children: Shirley Black, David Black, Lisa Stewart, Gail Nattress and grandchildren: Bradley, Nicole, Toni, Tyler, Cecelia and Trenton and great grandchildren: Brileigh and Faith and numerous nieces and nephews that loved him.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Willie M. Black and Thomas E. Black and his son Jeffrey Black.

James (Dude) will be remembered as a good christian man who cared for his family deeply.  He was a loving husband, Dad and grandfather and will be missed. He was a truck driver and welder in the Jacksonville area before retirement and moving to North Carolina.
