On Sunday, October 30th, 2022, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC, God sent his angels to take our beloved brother, James Edward Beard 72, to his heavenly home.

James was born on August 13th, 1950 to the late Callie Ruth Sanders. He was educated in the Sampson County School system. James left home at an early age and moved to Newburgh, NY with other members of the family. After many years, he finally returned in order to be close to his aging mother, aunts, brothers, stepsisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his mother, Callie Ruth Sanders and brother, Donald Ray Beard.

Home Going Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.

He leaves to cherish his memories forever his wife: Crystal Beard; children: Jerica New, Tymiracle Brunson, Tyrek Melvin, Tyshon Oates, Tyrell Coleman, Tyrianna Smith; brothers: Leon Beard, Edward Beard (Barbara), Joseph Beard (Angie), Jimmy Beard (Robin); stepsisters: Emma Kemp (Baby sister) and Marjorie Henry; and stepbrother: Isaiah Sanders, aunt: Annette Pride; uncle: Joe Tatum; cousins: Johnnie Mae Joyner, Virginia Ann Faison, Virginia Blue (Anthony), Bridget Tatum, Sheila Tatum, Nikki Tatum; nephews: Rashad Beard (Shanita), Jimmy Beard Jr., Lewis Woodard, Joseph D. Beard (deceased), nieces: Sharee Beard (Robert), Rebecca Adeniran (Gabi), Janita Beard, Leona Beard, Nikowana Beard, and Odetta Bailey;  sister-in-laws: Mary Williamson (Michael-deceased), Veronica Chance, Tokesia Underwood (Andy), Nicole Peacock (Charles Lee); brother-in-laws: Daryll Coleman and Dynasty Coleman; 2 grandchildren; as well as a host of other cousins and his very special friends William "Bo" Underwood (Andrea) and Constance Faison.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, family present from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.
