Jack Oliver Smith 62, of Bright Leaf Blvd in Smithfield NC died Wednesday October 21, 2009 at his residence. Jack was born November 15, 1946, in Brunswick County, the son of the late Sarah Lee and Goley Oliver Smith, He worked for F.L. Turlington Lumber Company in Clinton for over 28 years as a Master Saw man and Filer. A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday November 8,2009 at Hope Valley Funeral Chapel, Survivors include Wife, Sheila Bell Smith, one daughter Amanda Dawn Bell of Clinton, two sons, Chad Smith and wife Crystal of South Carolina, Michael Shaun Bell of Clinton. Six grandchildren, Jessica, Logan, and Noah Bell, of Clinton. Lauren, Zachary and Holly Mae Smith of South Carolina. Two Brothers, Jimmy Smith and Jesse Smith of Wilmington, Three Sisters, Shelvia (Faye) McDowell and husband Fred of Wilmington, Gladys Gentry of Castle Hayne, Mortie Brooks and Charles of Wilmington. Several nieces and nephew. One late sister Mable McDowell. The family will receive friends at Hope Valley Funeral Home at 1275 Hobbton Hwy in Clinton, Sunday November 8,2009 from 2 pm- 4 pm and other times at the home of Amanda Bell at 1245 Harmony Church Road in Clinton.
