Hazel Mae Borden 99 of 955 Lakewood School Road, Salemburg, NC died on April 5th, 2022 at her home.

Hazel was born February 16, 1923 in Sampson County to the late Lillian Gertrude Baggett and Henry Baggett. She attended Halls School in Keener, NC and she was baptised at Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church at a young age. She was a dedicated member until her health began to decline. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Hazel was always a joyful person to friends and strangers.

Hazel is preceded in death by her father Henry Baggett, mother Lillian Baggett Moore, son Malichi Baggett, daughter Gracy Devone, and sisters Elenorah Weeks and Edna Underwood.

Left to cherish Hazel's memory are her daughter Gertrude Carroll of Salemburg, NC; son Levi Baggett (Diane) of Faison, NC; sister Essie Beamon; four special nieces Gertie Steven, Dois Davis, Jannie Buffalo and Lennie Mayes; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

A Homegoing Service will take place at 3:00 pm Sunday April, 10, 2022 at Whosoever Will Disciples of Christ Church located at 76 Shirley Lane, Newton Grove.

Walk Thru will be from 1:00-5:00 pm Saturday April 9, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.
