Hattie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time watching television, and she possessed a wonderful talent for sewing. Whether mending clothes or creating something with her hands, she poured love into everything she did. Yet, above all her hobbies and interests, nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her beloved grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment shared with them.
In the early 1960s, Hattie met the love of her life, Freddie Davis King. Their union was blessed with seven beautiful children and built upon love, commitment, and unwavering devotion to family. Together they created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to live on for generations.
Hattie's faith was the foundation of her life. She faithfully served the Lord as a member of Point Level Disciples Church of Christ before later worshipping at Piney Green Church. As she entered her later years, she found spiritual comfort in her family at Whosoever Will Disciples of Christ Church. Her love for God was evident in the kindness she extended to others and the example she set for her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freddie Davis King; her parents, Ulister Parker, Sr. and Katherine Parker; her son, Freddie King, Jr.; her daughter, Susan Howard; her brothers, Gary, James, Walter, and Ulister Jr.; her sisters, Alfreda, Bertha, and Sally; and her beloved grandchildren, Ty’Shaundre’ Watson, Javion Watson, and D'Angelo King.
Although our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we rejoice in the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. She is lovingly remembered by her children:
She also leaves to cherish her memory her treasured grandchildren:
