Goldie Lee Smith Matthews 68 of 1827 Carry Bridge Road passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC.
Born in Wake County, NC to the late Yancey and Alma Ezzell Smith, she was the first female bail bondsman in the state of North Carolina, she worked as a bail bondsman in Sampson County and also worked with Prestige Farms for 6 years.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Roseboro First Baptist Church, with Rev. Hampton Faircloth officiating, burial will be held privately at a later date. Goldie leaves to cherish her memories: Her beloved husband of 48 years: Stanley Matthews of the home. Sons: Michael Matthews and wife Sherry of Autryville, James Earl Matthews and wife Imogene of Stedman, fur baby Cindy, 8 grandchildren: Patrick Matthews, Dorian Matthews, Amber Ohara, Dalton Hunt, Austin OHara, Wyllum Hunt, Kaylee Matthews and Harlee Hunt.
Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 2:00pm- 4:00pm
