Gerald Locklear, born January 11, 1951, in Robeson County, passed away on August 5, 2026, in Sampson County. Throughout his seventy-five years, Gerald was a dedicated son, brother, father, and friend whose strength and resolve left a meaningful impression on all who knew him. Gerald worked as a carpenter and in his freetime he loved to go fishing every chance he got.

In honoring the wishes of Gerald, cremation will take place and he will remain in the care of his brother, James. No services will be held at this time.

Gerald was the beloved son of Carrell James and Beulah Mae Locklear, both of whom preceded him in death. The values instilled by his parents continued to guide him throughout his life. Gerald also shared a special bond with his late sisters, Glenda Locklear, Bobbie Naylor, and Ruby Ammons, whose memories remained close to his heart.

Gerald is survived by his loving brother James (Peggy) Locklear, who shared many enduring memories and unwavering sibling support. Gerald’s life was also enriched by his dearest love, Torie Turner of Goldsboro, NC and daughter, Alda Turner, whose presence brought him immense pride and joy. Among those who remain to honor his legacy are his nieces and nephews: Mickey Gersch, Glenn (Kathy) Locklear, Tony Ammons, and Delphia Tyndall. Their lives have been profoundly influenced by Gerald’s guidance, encouragement, and steadfast love.

Gerald developed meaningful friendships throughout his life. Shannon Dobbins, Mary Ann Young, and Natalie Fann were among his close friends, all of whom cherished his companionship, wisdom, and loyal spirit.

In honoring Gerald Locklear’s memory, those who knew him will continue to be inspired by his enduring love for family, steadfast relationships, and the lasting values he upheld. His influence will be remembered for generations to come.
