Carter Street died Sunday June 26, 2011 at Sampson Regional Medical Center. A home going service will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday July 2, 2011 at Andrew's Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Gerald Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at the Andrew's Chapel Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Matthews was born in Sampson Co., on April 16,1919 to the late Dock Brunson and Lena Holmes. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Lloyd Matthews Sr., One Son Roy Lee Brunson, One Brother James Matthews. She is survived by: Three daughters, Geraldine Lane, Hazel Whitted and Lena Matthews; three sons, Chevis, Glenwood Lee, and Lloyd Matthews Jr. , all of Clinton, Two sisters, Eloise Bryant of California and Floretta Edwards of Clinton, NC. 28 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great-great grandchildren. A public viewing will be held Friday July 1,2011 from 2:00pm -7:00 pm at Hope Valley Funeral Chapel with the family present from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
