Elma Ruth Parker Cain, 81 – made a peaceful transition to her heavenly home on April 13th, 2020 at UNC Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, NC. Elma was born on November 3rd, 1938 – a devoted daughter to her parents the late Chester and Lenora Parker. Born and raised in Sampson County, a graduate of Roseboro High School where she played on the basketball team. She joined Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church at a early age and was recognized as Mother of the Year. She was also involved with the Homecoming Committee for many years. She wore many hats and worked in the Healthcare field, Hamilton Beach, Country Wide Sewing, and was a homemaker in her later years not only supporting her family but also helping anyone she knew. She was by nature a creative person, bringing her unique touch to everything from the one of a kind outfits she wore to her homemade chocolate cakes. She was a strong and a determined woman, with no job ever too large or too small that she would not tackle. Her life was full and rich with loving family and friends of her community who were the source of much joy. In 1966, she married the love of her life Clarence Cain, Sr. and in September of this year would have made 54 years of marriage. Together they raised 5 children and made unforgettable memories traveling
the United States and overseas during her husband's military career.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Roseboro-Snowhill Cemetery Elma is survived by her three daughters: Jamezetta (Jacob) Bellinger of Estill, SC., Valerie (Eddie) Williams of Roseboro, NC., Latreesha (Kevin) Register of Raleigh, NC., and a son Clarence Cain Jr. of California. She was a loving grandmother to Tanesha Bellinger, Rose Whitley, Michael Bellinger, Jasmine Upshaw, Jacob Bellinger II, Aisha Bellinger- Walter, Nicholas Butler, Nicole Butler, Meiko Cain, and Xander Cain. Step Grandmother to Jashaun Rgister and Aaliyah Register. A Great-Grandmother to Ashley Bellinger, Ashton Bellinger, Jordan Bellinger, Emmanuel Bell, Maliyah Whitley, Elisha Keith Walter, and Novah Blue Butler. She also leaves behind her brothers Charles Parker, W.C (Mary) Parker, George (Liz) Parker, one sister Rosa Parker, and sister in law Shelda Parker. Lastly, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and friends - all who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by: (Parents) Chester & Lenora Parker, (Husband) Clarence Cain, Sr., (Son) Kenny Rue McCorkle, (Great – Granddaughter) Nevaeh Butler, (Brother) Edward Parker, and (Sister in Law) Geneva Parker.
