Calypso

Elizabeth Cashwell Clarke, 81, Calypso, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2023, at home with her family by her side.

Born in Garland, but a life-long resident of Calypso she was known as "Mama" or "Libo" to most. She spent most of her spare time in her yard, cleaning, or cooking.  Her greatest treasure in life was her family and spending time with them, never missing a ballgame, dance recital, or birthday.  Her cooking, hugs and kisses, and smile will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ruby Cashwell; brothers, W.C. Cashwell, J.R. Cashwell, Murray Cashwell, and Richard Cashwell; and sisters, Shirley Wells and Mary Lily Cashwell. Also, a great-granddaughter Maggie Rae Parker.

A private memorial service will occur at a later time.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, James Travis Clarke; two sons, Travis Carroll Clarke (Karen) of Middlesex and Joel McRay Clarke (Wanda) of Faison; four grandchildren, Magen Odom (Jacob) of Seven Springs, Brittany Parker (Cameron) of Clinton, Kyle Clarke (Cassidy) of Middlesex, and Starr Clarke of Middlesex; three great-grandchildren, Bailey Parker, Jake Odom, and Chase Odom; several nieces and nephews and their families; and a special niece, Beverly Cashwell Edgerton.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice of Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, her wishes were for her loved ones to make monetary donations to the St Jude Children's Hospital.
