Edna Ayers Brooks 88, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at her home.

Edna was born September 27, 1934 in Pitt County to the late Henry M. Ayers and Emma Jackson. Edna was married to the late Frances Brooks, who was an US Army Vet of 32 years, and they enjoyed 35 years together. She worked for over 50 years as the secretery at Piggly Wiggly and was a dedicated member of Belvoir Freewill Baptist Church. She loved her church and her church family. She enjoyed working in the garden, baking, and spending quality time with her family.

Left to cherish the memory of Edna are her daughter Emma Roach and husband of Greenville, NC, her two grandsons Jonathan Strunk of Greenville, NC and Chad Roach of Four Oaks, NC, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Belvoir Free Will Baptist Church,  3695 NC-33, Greenville, NC 27834. Burial to follow at Homestead Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at 4251 East 10th Street, Greenville, NC 27858.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service to assist with funeral expenses.
