Dwight Tart 51, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2022 at UNC Health Johnston, Smithfield, NC.

Dwight, better known as Fred by those who knew him best, was born September 18, 1970 in Harnett County to the late Joseph E. Tart and Nellie Ruth Tart. He was a graduate of South Johnston High and would go on to become employed at Sysco Foods where he worked as a loader for the company. Fred loved cars of all kinds. Classic or not, he had a fascination for all things automotive. Fred was also a huge fan of all different sports. He loved Clemson sports and was a fan of the New York Yankees baseball team. Fred will always be remembered for his great sense of humor which was contagious.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm on Saturday September 17, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church located at 7538 NC Hwy 50 South Benson, NC 27504. Pastor Thomas Collins officiating.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. Tart and Nellie Ruth Tart; as well as his brother Billy Joe Tart.

Left to cherish the memory of Fred is his brother John Allen Tart and wife Ginger of Dunn, NC; nieces Beth Beasley and husband Andrew of Dunn, NC and Melissa Jason and husband Richard of Fayetteville, NC; 4 great nieces and a host of very special friends and family who will miss him greatly.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to wonderful friends David Wood and the Hockaday Family for always being so incredibly good to Fred.

In luie of flowers the family asks that all memorials be made to Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service to help with service expenses.
