Douglas Shelton Lee 81, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at his daughters home.

Douglas was born on March 6, 1942 in Pitt County to the late Lena Wells and Elijah Dalton Lee. Douglas served his country as a member of the United States Army. In his spare time he enjoyed junking, yard sales, and gardening.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Jamesville United Methodist Church, 2230 Main Street, Jamesville, NC 27846. Interment with military honors will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 806 NC 32, Plymouth, NC.

Douglas is preceded in death by his parents: Elijah Dalton Lee and Lena Wells Lee; his late wife: Phyllis Lee; step-daughter: Ginger Hendrix sister: Sandra Mizzelle; and 3 brothers: Allen Lee, Nelson Lee, and Clifton Lee.

Left to cherish the memory of Douglas are his children: Shelly Williams and husband David of Benson, NC, Michael Douglas Lee of Plymouth, NC, and Lori Campbell-Lewis and husband Paul of Clarksville, TN; his sister: Joanne Lee Norris and husband Jerry of Williamston, NC; five grandchildren: Elijah Williams, Daniel Williams, Zachary Williams, Mady Lewis, and Taylor Campbell; and his many nieces and nephews.
