Doris Hope Layton 81 of 8501 Stevenson Road died Saturday October 29, 2022, at her home.

Doris was born in Sampson County in 1941 to the late Robert and Dora Japarks Hope, and was preceded in death by her siblings, Linda Taylor, Bobby Hope, Harold Hope, Victor Hope,  Jonny Hope and Jackie Hope. She attended Evergreen Baptist Church in Delway and attended Campbell College for 2 years.  Doris worked her share at the Happy Penguin Sewing Company, US Postal Carrier, Garland Shirt Factory, Ezzell Trucking, an Office Administration with her Family Television Network Ministry in Raleigh, member of Mt Vernon Baptist Church in Apex, most all she loved her family and working in her garden.

Graveside Service: 2:00pm Tuesday November 1, 2022, at the Hope Family Cemetery 309 Bobby Hope Road Rosehill NC, by the Rev. Shane Scott officiating.

Visitation: Monday October 31, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation 1246 Hobbton Hwy Clinton NC.

Doris leaves to cherish her memories: Husband Rev. Dr. James Layton of the home,

Children; Beverly (Robert) Strickland of Roseboro, Jimmy (Anacely) Layton of Apex,         Phillip Layton Sr. of Delway.
