Donald Ray Turner Sr. 62, of 176 Turner Lane, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Donald was born on November 22, 1961 in Sampson County to the late Amos Turner and Janie Lucas. He worked for Smithfield Hog Production for 41 years and in his free time enjoyed playing cards and corn hole. Donald also had a passion for cooking BBQ.

A Celebration of Donald's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328 with Pastor Chris Bishop, officiating.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Janie Turner, as well as his siblings.

Those left to cherish the memory of Donald include his children: Melissa Deem (Chris) of Florida, Don Turner (Kelly) of Autryville, NC, and James Turner (Donna) of Louisiana; his best friend, caregiver, and the mother of his children: Sara Stephen; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; his 4-legged companion Precious; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Donald will be truly missed by everyone whose life he touched.
