Derek Lamir Faison, 27 of Beulaville, North Carolina. Passed away September 26, 2023, joining his grandfathers Earl Johnson Sr., Allen Faison Sr., and his cousin Jada B. Warner.
Derek was born in Easton, Maryland on August 28,1996 to Ulrica B. Exum and Allen Lamir Faison. Derek was a caring, loving, funny, and quirky young man who loved everyone. He was great at just about all sports. He played basketball, football, baseball, and wrestling. He played the guitar (which he loved) and he was always in the studio making music. Derek loved cooking, building things, and training dogs.
Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 13, 2023 Greater Faith Temple COGIC Bridgeville , DE 19933 Bishop Paul R. Harmon, officiating
Derek graduated from Desert Hot Springs High School, and received an academic scholarship to college in Palm Desert, CA with a GPA of a 4.2. He completed a 4 year Bachelors Degree program in 2 years in Business Management. He then transferred to California State University and obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting and Economics. while working on his degrees he worked for the University as a Undergraduate Research Assistant, a Peer Advisor, and a Commencements Usher.Derek was well known in the Southern California area. He moved to Beulaville, NC to be with his family & friends this year. He was well known and loved.
Derek leaves behind his parents Ulrica B. Exum and Allen Lamir Faison, host of siblings and especially "Cita,", cousins. Aunts: Sharenda Giddens, Tenyal Aubrey, Yolanda Saunders, Danelle Johnson, Altaya Faison-Robinson. Uncles:Earl Johnson Jr., Anticius (Snoop). Grandparents: The late Earl Johnson Sr, & Sharon L. Johnson, and The late Allen Faison Jr. & Jennifer- Faison- Moore, and one Niece: Gianna Renee Robinson.
Derek will be forever loved & missed.
