On May 13th, we lost Dennis Foy, Jr., far too soon at the age of 48 in a tragic motorcycle accident. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void in our lives, his spirit lives on in the countless people whose lives he touched and in the hearts of his children.

Dennis was born October 20th, 1977, in Media, PA. He was known and loved for his warmth, humor, and incredible generosity. One of the things that made him so special was his open heart. He wasn't afraid to be vulnerable, and he had a genuine desire to connect with people in a meaningful way. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him, he was magnetic and charming. He had the gift of gab; he could keep a room laughing, engaged, and connected with authenticity and wit.

As a child, Dennis was wild, mischievous, and undeniably bright. Even then, there was something extraordinary about him - a spark of genius. His energy was uncontainable. He approached the world with curiosity and enthusiasm, qualities that stayed with him throughout his life.

Dennis proudly served our country as a member of the United States Army, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage and commitment. He felt a call to join the military after his experience during the 9/11 attacks. He was stationed in the 20th Special Forces Group, where he completed campaigns in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Dennis was awarded multiple medals, most notably - Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. He had an honorable medical retirement in 2022. His dedication to his country was matched only by his love for his children.

More recently, he accomplished something that meant the world to him: graduating from Northeastern University, Magna Cum Laude. He worked incredibly hard for that achievement, and he wore it with well-earned pride. It was proof that no matter where life had taken him, he never stopped growing, learning, or striving to become the best version of himself.

Of all the roles Dennis held, being a father was the one he cherished most. His three beautiful, brilliant children were the center of his world. Loving them gave him purpose and clarity, and nothing made him happier than being their dad. He loved cooking for them, hanging out with them, and taking them to the beach. His love for them was constant and deep, and he spoke about them often.

Dennis loved to travel and to experience other cultures. Food was one of his great passions. He found joy in preparing meals with care for the people he loved, and he was always eager to discover new restaurants and have culinary adventures.

Dennis was honest about the fact that life wasn't always easy for him. He spoke openly about his struggles to find his place in the world. Despite the challenges he faced, he never lost his sense of humor or his appreciation for beauty. He was tenacious and resilient. He found joy where he could, valued art, and continued to seek meaning and connection throughout his life.

He loved his family fiercely and never hesitated to them; there was never any doubt where his heart was.

He was cherished by those who grew up with him in Chatham and Summit, New Jersey, by the men and women who served beside him in the Army, and by the many friends he made along the way. He loved deeply, laughed often, cared sincerely, and never stopped searching for purpose, connection, and joy. Dennis left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

We will miss him beyond words, but we will also remember him with gratitude - for his laughter, his heart, his resilience, and the countless ways he made this world brighter simply by being in it. His legacy lives on in his children, in the love he gave so freely, and in the memories that so many of us will carry forever.

He is survived by his children, Hadley, Kelsey, and Grady; his father, Dennis Foy; his mother Karen Foy (who followed in passing); his sisters, Natasha Nelson, Korin Foy, Heather Shearn, Carolyn Saxton, and friends.
