David C.Sutton 67, of 4467 Suttontown Road Faison NC died Thursday June 25, 2026 at UNC Johnston in Smithfield, NC.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in the Gene Elwood Sutton Family Cemetery located at 4467 Sutton Town Rd., Faison, NC.

David was born in Wayne County on October 17, 1958 to the late Gene Sutton and Carol Johnson Barbour. A proud United States Marine, he carried the values of honor, loyalty, and service with him throughout his life. A hardworking sheet-rocker by trade, he built more than walls, he built lasting friendships and a reputation for honesty and dependability. When he wasn't working, he found his greatest joy casting a line from the fishing pier, hunting, watching NC State Football, spending time on the golf course, enjoying a friendly game of cards or Yahtzee, and sharing laughter with family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need , asking for little in return. His generous spirit, warm heart, and deep love for his family will remain a lasting legacy and he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Along with his loving parents, David is also preceded in death by his son Joseph Sutton and brother Bobby Sutton.

David leaves to cherish his memories his son and daughter-in-law, Jamey and Abigail Sutton of Wendell; mother of his children, Lisa Sutton of Willow Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Brandi Sutton of Sunset Beach; brother Marty Sutton of Smithfield; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Wesley Williams; grandchildren: Miriam and Abel; along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
