On January 18,1975, Damon Damont Goodwin was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Damon Goodwin transitioned to be with Allah on February 24, 2021. Damon Goodwin is preceded in death by his father Gilbert Goodwin, his mother Jane Garline Goodwin and his sister Charmaine Goodwin.
He leaves to cherish the memory of his life who he loved dearly, one daughter Niah Goodwin of Charlotte, N.C., one son, Damon Damont Goodwin Jr. of Garland, N.C., special friend Maggie Goodwin of Charlotte, N.C., and Quaeshia Frinks of Durham N.C, one sister Lorraine Evans of Paterson, N.J., two brothers, Derek Goodwin of Clinton, N.C., and Christopher Goodwin of Scranton, Pa. He leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends that will always remember and cherish his life living memories.
Damon Goodwin, although born in Baltimore Maryland, Paterson, NJ was his home. He attended Eastside High School of Paterson, NJ, and then Union High School of Harrells, N.C. Throughout his life, Damon worked as a Welder, Mechanic, in the fields of Sanitation, and Residential Transportation, later finding his passion as a Commercial Truck Operator.
Damon's short stories always brightened up a room and kept everyone in awe and laughing. He loved his family and lived for his kids, nieces, and nephews. Being humble and honest were traits that he exercised daily and preached to his family and friends. He was never shy of speaking the truth and protecting the innocent was second nature. It seems that Damon was charged to unify and solidify all his family as one.
If you know Damon like we all know Damon, you will know that Facebook Messenger was invented for only Damon Goodwin!! Yet another example of him being close to family even when he was miles, and miles away.
Sadly, we all will miss Damon comedy, his boastfulness, and his open spirit. Damon is definitely proof that no matter how hard times hit you, that you can always come up, and elevate yourself above all of your challenges.
