Daisy Mildred Downam, 79, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Smithfield Manor Nursing Center in Smithfield, NC.

Daisy was born in Baldwin, Maine on January 17, 1940 to the late John and Lottie Derusha Pitts.During her spare time, Daisy loved to go out dancing, cooking for her family, and cleaning the house, but most importantly spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Daisy was preceded in death by her husband: Harry Downam and one grandson: Matthew Lee Sweigart.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel located at 1246 Hobbton Hwy, in Clinton with Pastor Ken White officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery located at 2809 US HWY 421 N in Clinton.

Daisy leaves behind her 11 children: Betty (Ronald) Peters of Delmont, NJ, Daisy Gomez of Godwin, NC, Marjorie (Aaron) Chavez of Salemburg, NC, Michael (Diane) Sweigart of Elizabethtown, NC, Steven Sweigart (Catherine Nugent) of Wildwood, NJ, Joann (Alfredo) Santana of Autryville, NC, Tina Downam of Kenly, NC, Terry (Raul) Lopez of Four Oakes, NC, DeLynn (Percy) Clark of Clayton, NC, Kenneth Downam and Justin Downam both of Willow Springs, NC, sister: Lottie Mae Maines of Wallecton, Pa. 18 Grandchildren, and 33 Great-Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
