In accordance with our Heavenly Father's Plan, Cornelius Peterson-Caldwell 63, was called home Sunday, December 11, 2022. When she heard the voice of her Father, she answered, took his hand, and left it all.

Cornelius Peterson-Caldwell was born January 12, 1959 to the late J.B. Fryar and Nettie Ray Pugh-Fryar. She received her education from the Sampson County School System and attended King's Business College in Raleigh, NC. She was employed with several businesses including IBM in Durham, NC and the Kellogg Company in Cary, NC until her health left her unable to continue working. At an early age she joined Holly Grove Disciples of Christ Church under the leadership of Rev. Jessie Harper.

She was preceded in death by her father J.B. Fryar, mother Nettie Fryar, brothers Charles, Willie James, Alfonza Alfred Jr. and her late husband Robert Charles Peterson.

A Home Going service will be held at 1:00 pm, with 12:00-12:45 pm visitation time prior to the service, on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Holly Grove Disciples Church, located at 114 N. McCullen Rd. Clinton, NC 28328. Elder Michelle Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery, 3 Sampson St., Clinton, NC 28328.

A Walk Through will be 3:00-5:00 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Willie Caldwell of Durham, NC; two daughters: Tawanda D. Peterson and Shakeria R. Peterson of Durham, NC; three step-children: Willie McLean of Durham, NC, Derek McLean of Raleigh, NC, and Robin McLean of Raleigh, NC; one sister: Annie F. Burke of Fayetteville, NC; one brother: Henry W. (Kaye) Fryar Sr. of Kenley, NC; six sister-in-law: Gladys Fryar of Clinton, NC, Clementin Wells of Rose Hill, NC, Diane Rogers of Teachy, NC, Sara Wells of Teachy, NC, Barbara Fontane of Buffalo, NY, and Pandora Fryar of Greensboro, NC; two brother-in-law: Roy Lee Peterson of Cary, NC and Connie Caldwell of Durham, NC; and one aunt: Margaret Fryar of Warsaw, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jamarie, Tyrese, Xavier, Miracle, Ellias, London, and Legend; two special sisters: Evelyn Thompson of Faison, NC and Grace Watson of Fayetteville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, god children, relatives and friends.
