Christopher Columbus Murphy 58, of 420 NE Railroad St., departed this life on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his home.

Christopher was born May 26, 1965 in Sampson County to the  late Lee and Annie Pearl Murphy. He worked for Valley Protein and loved being on the water in his spare time.

Christopher was preceded in death by his son, Lee Murphy and a brother, Stanley Young.

A Graveside service will take place 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2024 in Sandhill Cemetery, located at 3 Sampson St., Clinton, NC.

Visitation will be 2:00 pm-6:00 pm, with family present 5:00 pm-6:00 pm, on Saturday, February 24, 2024 within Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC.

He leaves behind children: Anthony T. Murphy Clinton NC., Shawn C. Murphy,(Alexandria, wife) of FayettevilleN.C. and Nyla Murphy  of Kentucky; sister: Evelyn Hobbs; brothers: Prentice Murphy, Millard Murphy, and Michael Lee; grandchildren: Delonte Murphy, Christopher Murphy Jr., Marquis Murphy, Darius Monroe, Samaria Daughtry , and Asia Carr; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
