Cecil N. Sessoms 79, of 887 Beaver Dam Rd., died Monday, February 26, 2024 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
Cecil was born in Sampson County on July 11, 1944 to the late Thomas and Beulah Sessoms. Cecil worked in Agricultural Research for the state of North Carolina. He loved to go for rides and talk with friends. In his free time he loved to go fishing and hunting. Cecil and Annie delivered newspapers for years for the Sampson Independent Newspaper in Clinton.
Preceding Cecil in death is his son, James J.L. Holand.
Funeral Service was held at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC. Rev. Chubby Reiber & Rev. Ray Carter, officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery on US 421 North, Clinton, NC.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, 2:00 pm-3:00 pm within Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel. The family will receive visitors and friends other times at the home, 887 Beaver Dam Rd., Clinton, NC.
Left to cherish fond memories of Cecil are his loving wife, Annie Sessoms of the home; son, Rev. Charles Holland Sr. (Cindy) of Salemburg; daughter-in-law, Betty Holland of Wade; grandchildren: Cheryl Simpson (Daniel) of Roseboro, James W. Holland of Wade, Charles Holland Jr. (Samantha) of Salemburg, and Courtney Holland of Salemburg; 4 great-grandchildren: Chancey Holland, Lauren Simpson, Byron Simpson, and Hannah Simpson; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
