Brenda Stewart 65 of 471 Isaac Road passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Home Going Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Big Piney Grove Church, burial will follow on at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

On Friday, August 18, 2017 our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Brenda Kaye Newman Stewart was granted her angel wings. Brenda was born on September 12, 1951 in Sampson County to the late Carl Lee and Lovella Newman. She preceded in death with two siblings, Bobby Lee and Linda Lou. She was also preceded in death by a grandson Tylilrius Stewart. She received her education at Charles E. Perry School in the class of "69". She later met Johnnie which they would date then stayed married for 46 years. With this had two kids Nicole which is deceased and Nicholas. With that she gained 3 grandchildren. She was a member of Big Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in choir and on Usher board. She also attended Sampson Chapel her husband in church. She loved to work. Her previous employment was Lundy's Marganite, Walmart. She enjoyed going to work at Walmart. You would always see her smiling and cutting up with friends and family. She loved to be around her siblings and family. Going to cookouts. She loved to dance, her favorite song was "Step in The Name of Love", R. Kelly She would tell her grandson, Tyrese who she called "Fat Daddy", "That's my song!" And she would dance until the song goes off. One of her favorite songs was "I'm still here" by Williams Brothers. If you only knew her, you would know why she liked that song.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memories: husband Johnnie A. Stewart, Clinton NC, one son Nickolas Stewart "Nicky Pooh"(Jenifer) Fayetteville, NC, Two grandsons Christopher Stewart and Tyrese Stewart, both of home. And Grandsons Nicholas Ceasar, Traveon Ceasar, Jylil Barnett, Tywun Barnett and Narius McGougan. Three great grand children Tyrese Jr and Ky'lin both of the home and Arsen Barnett Orlando FL, one son-in-law, Steven Fishback of Clinton, NC, Joe(Mary) Newman (Linda) Columbia SC, Micheal (Jewel) Newman of Austin TX. Earl Newman of Roseboro NC, Sisters-in-law Jayne Jackson, Chester PA, Margaret McNeill of Pennsauken, NJ, and Kathy Stewart of Raleigh NC, One brother-inlaw James Robert(Gail) Stewart of Goldsboro NC, two aunts Annie Ruth Bennett of Clinton NC and Katie James of Roseboro NC, two special cousins Mary Boykin and Carolyn Newman both of Clinton NC, nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends.
