For over thirty years, Brenda's dedication and compassion illuminated the halls of Sampson Regional Medical Center. Her commitment to her work touched the lives of countless individuals. Brenda's devotion to her faith was unwavering. She held a profound love for Jesus and found solace and joy in her church community. Her dedication was felt by all as she faithfully served as an usher for many years at St Paul's Church of Christ and then moved to Higher Level Worship Center embodying the spirit of compassion and grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Leander Calvin (LC) and two brothers Robert and Jesse Boykin.

Family was Brenda's cornerstone. She leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing, survived by her beloved children Leander, Reggie, Lakisha, Shanice, Dawanda, and God son Michael. Her devotion to her "babies" was unparalleled, and her love for each of them knew no bounds.

She was also a beacon of strength and support to her surviving siblings Marvin, James (Joyce), Doris (Ollen Sr.), Ray, and Linda. She loved to fellowship with her brothers and sisters bring peace and commanding peace.  Their favorite was coming together talking about the Lord. She always had an encouraging word and listening ear. Brenda had a heart as vast as her appetite.
