Booker T. Washington Draughon 78, departed this life for his heavenly home on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Mary Gran Nursing Center.

Booker was born March 29, 1943 in Sampson County to the late Leon Davis and Frances Irene Draughon.

Booker is preceded in death by his sons Jeffery Draughon and Demetrius Draughon; daughter Yolanda Elaine Draughon; brothers Windell Draughon, Harold Draughon, Myrd Draughon; and his grandchildren Shlanda Toomer, Sorona Toomer, and Jovyda Draughon.

A Home Going Service will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328, burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery on Hwy 24, Clinton, NC.

Walk Thru will take place prior to the service from 12:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.

Left to cherish Bookers memory are his wife Peggy Carolyn Underwood Draughon; sons Booker Draughon Jr. and Jerome Draughon; brother Donnie Draughon (Fannie); sisters Leeomina Byam and Rosetta Draughon, grandchildren Antwen Draughon, Adonis Toomer, Jaquante Draughon, Hydeia Draughon; thirteen great grandchildren; aunt Mary Rose Bryant; sister-in-laws Gloria Draughon and Annie Draughon; and a host of nephews, nieces, other family members and friends.
