Annette James 76 passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

On Thursday, March 30, 2023 God, in his infinite wisdom, called home Annette James. Annette was born January 12, 1947 to the late Annease Bryant James and Cleveland James, Sr. She was 76 years old.

Annette received her education at Hargrove High School and was a graduate of the Class of 1965. After graduating, Annette worked numerous jobs in the Clinton area.

At an early age, Annette was baptized and joined Union Grove FWB Church in Keener, NC. Annette was united in holy matrimony to Kenneth Ray Underwood. In her later years she joined St. Peter Holiness Church under the leadership of Rev. Doctor Bobby Lamb.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Annease James, and one sibling, her brother Clifton R. James.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Keveland Ray Underwood of the home and Kenneth Montreal Underwood of Fayetteville, NC; two brothers: Cleveland James, Jr. and Amon (Sandra) James of Clinton, NC; two sisters: Lillian Daughtry and Annie (J.C.) Williams of Clinton, NC; one special niece: Angelina Simmons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Home Going Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery .

A walk thru will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service from 2:00 pm- 7:00 pm with family present from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
