Obituary

Faison, Mrs. Anna Marie Bright 71 of 6571 Dave Bright Road went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Sampson Regional Medical Center. . A Home Going Celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Clinton Family Worship Center, 103 Raiford Road, with Pastor Lynn Blackburn officiating, burial will follow in the Cobb Cemetery in Faison, N.C. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton. Anna received her education from Hargrove School in Faison, NC. After graduating, she began her career at the Stevenson Plant in Goldsboro, NC, where she worked for twenty years and later worked for Hamilton Beach, where she retired. Growing up, Anna had a love for basketball, banging on the guitar and her "RED DUSTER" car. On December 5, 1985, Anna was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, David "Joe Lewis" Bright and they have celebrated thirty years of blissful marriage. When you saw one, you saw the other. They even became a duo cleaning team for Morrisey Cleaning Service for several years. At an early age, Anna was a member of The Greater Six Runs Baptist Church, but later she and her husband joined The Clinton Family Worship Center in 2006, where she served faithfully on the Welcoming Committee. She often expressed how much she loved her Pastor and church family. Anna was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Simmons, Walter "Monk" Simmons, Joe Lewis Simmons, Carrie Jean Morrisey and Winne Faison. Anna is survived by her loving husband, David "Joe Lewis" Bright of the home; three sisters, Mary (Rudolph)Bell, Doris Watkins and Annie (Wendell) Draughon, all of Clinton, NC; four brothers, Matthew Simmons, Nathaniel Simmons, William "Man" Simmons, all of Turkey, NC and Otis (Althea) Simmons of Kinston, NC; one special aunt, Bertha Aycock, of Faison, NC; three sisters-in-law, Annie "PG" (Nathan) Thompson of Faison, NC Audrey (John) White of Rocky Mount, NC and Mabel "Tiny Mama" (Pernell) Goodman of Clinton, NC; a very special young man, who was so dear to her heart, that she called him her son, Kelly Armtese of Clinton, NC and a host of other relatives and friends. Anna always made you laugh and was full of fun, she will truly be missed by all who knew her.
