It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Andrew "Peewee" Thomas Jr. 75, of 229 Wooded Lane, Roseboro, NC. Andrew, also lovingly known as Peewee, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Duke Hospital.
Born in Sampson County to the late Inez Moore and Andrew "Slim" Thomas Sr. on September 12, 1947. Andrew owned and operated his own trucks for many years. He later enjoyed doing lawn work and worked on lawn mowers for others and taking care of dogs. Anyone who knew Peewee knew that he was the most loving father, grandfather, and husband a family could ask for. He was well known for being a hard worker.
Home Going Services will be at 2:30 pm on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Temple of God, 307 Legion St. Roseboro, NC 28382.Burial will follow at Roseboro-Snowhill Cemetery on Marion-Amos Rd.
Peewee now joins his parents; his first wife Mary Thomas; sons Thomas L. Thomas, Dale Thomas, and Korey Thomas; brother Mark Evans; and granddaughter April McLean.
A Walk Through will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, 2:00-5:00 pm, family present from 5:00-6:00 pm, at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.
Andrew leaves behind his wife: Sharon Thomas of Harrells, sons: James (Angel) Thomas, Andrew (Laquata) Thomas, Scotty (Alesha) Thomas, Craig (Tina) Thomas; daughter: Sheila (Henry) McLean; sisters: Ruby Thomas and Joyce Thomas-Owens; brothers: Richard "Fish" ( Susan)Thomas, Ronnie (Patricia) Smith, Frederick Thomas, Ernest Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandkids, and great grandkids. Two adopted grandkids he viewed as his own, Shemilia (Anthony) Owens and Priscilla (Lamar) Harris.
Peewee lived a full and warm life filled with love and joy. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. His family will make sure his legacy will carry on.
