Phillip Leon Hyatt Cobb (Junior) passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2026, at Novant New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington.

Phillip was born in Birmingham, AL to Leon M Hyatt and Annie L Morgan Cobb. Phillip joined the Marines in 1964 and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. Upon leaving the Marines, Phillip began working in HVAC.

Phillip was preceded in death by his long time companion, Sandy Harmon; father, Leon M. Hyatt; mother, Annie L. Morgan Cobb; and son; Dwight A. Cobb.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher N. Cobb and Frank X. Cobb; care giver, Patty Harmon; sisters, Glenda H. Register and Joyce H. Merritt.

A military grave side service will be held Tuesday, June 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Montford Landing Rd., Jacksonville NC. His son, Christopher Cobb will be officiating the service.
