Rosa L. Rogers Thomas, 87, of Lancaster, PA and formerly of Roseboro, NC, died peacefully on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Roseboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late Henry McKinley and Katie (Hayes) Rogers. She was the former wife of the late Robert D. Thomas.
Rosa was a devoted church worker and a licensed Evangelist in the Lancaster Deliverance Center. She was also a faithful attendee of the Greater Deliverance COGIC. She enjoyed fishing, going to yard sales and arts and crafts, especially jewelry making.
Surviving are seven children, Katie (Louis) Butcher, Paul (Judy), Cheneatia, Darryl, Arturo, Gregory Rogers and Robert C. (Heather) Thomas; 2 brothers, Terry and Tyrand (Sharon) Brown, fifteen grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are a brother, Charles L. Rogers, and 3 sisters, Retha Mae Melvin, Elner J. Winder and Katherine Smith.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Holy Tabernacle United Holy Church, Roseboro, NC at 12:00 p.m. A viewing will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Roseboro Cemetery Snow Hill in North Carolina.
