Mary Ann Matthews 78 of 107 Heath Street passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at her home.

Born in Greene County, North Carolina to the late James and Ruby Shingleton, Mary worked as a certified nursing assistant at Sampson Memorial Hospital, she is preceded in death by one grandson; Chris King.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:30 pm on Friday, February, 1, 2019 at Baptist Chapel Church in Autryville with Rev. Alan Roberts & Rev. Joey Cantrell officiating, burial will follow in the Harnett Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories: Her husband Carl Glenn Matthews of the home, Children: Bobby D. Rouse and wife Carol of Faison, Mary Angela Tyndall and her husband Jerry of Godwin, Lisa Rouse of Faison, Robert Rouse and wife Tiffany of Goldsboro, Pella Thigpen and husband Timmy of Roseboro, Brothers: James Daniel Shingleton of Snowhill, Jimmy Goff of Snowhill, Glenn Shingleton of Asheville, NC, Sisters: Connie Sue Oakley of Snowhill and Penny Isenhower, Ind., 18 Grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:00pm – 8:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.
