Elton Johnson 55 formerly of Sampson County passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at his home.

Home going services will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, December, 22, 2018 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. burial will follow in the Jumping Run Cemetery on McKoy Loop Road in Ivanhoe N C.Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, December, 22, 2018 at Hope Valley Hawkins from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm.
Elton was son of the late Cassell & Bessie Mae Underwood Johnson, was born on December 17, 1962 in Sampson County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Bonita Mae Johnson and niece Ashley Johnson.
On December 18, 2017, Elton was united in holy matrimony to Vernistene Hooper, his High School Sweetheart.

Elton leaves to celebrate his life: his awesome loving wife, Vernistene Johnson of the home; two step-daughters, Charron Pritchard of Alabama, Twyla Young & son Isaiah Young of Greer, SC: Jabiar Banks(like a son) Asheville, NC: Two brothers, Amos N Johnson of Arden, NC and Cassell Johnson Jr of New York. One niece, Tiara Payton of Fayetteville, NC. One nephew, Marcus Stephens of Augusta, GA. One aunt, Dorothy Johnson of Clinton, NC: In-Laws: Ministers Willie & Ocia Hooper of Harrells, NC: Two brother-in-law’s: Willie Hooper Jr of Simpsonville, SC, Wayne & Claudette Sowers of Ivanhoe, NC: Special brother: Luther Weatherford of Wilmington, NC: Three Sisters-inThe-laws: Connie Sowers of Kelly, NC, Olivia & Bernard Hodges of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Deona Hooper of Florida, and a host of loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
