Charlie Felton Jackson Jr. known to many as "C.F." or "Tab" 86 of 268 Bernice Tart Lane, Dunn, passed away Thursday August 23rd 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Benson.
Charlie was a native of Harnett County North Carolina. He was the son of the late Charlie Felton Jackson Sr and Clida Williford Jackson. Charlie was a chef, he enjoyed cooking at work and on special occasions for family and friends. He got his enjoyment out of seeing others enjoy good home cooked food. Charlie and Betty Jackson were owners of Betty's Restaurant on Main Street in Benson. They had three daughters helping them run the restaurant in the 70s. He was a loving, caring and giving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Charlie was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Gray Holland Jackson. Sisters Armatha Emory, Shelvia Jean Lewis and Evelyn Jackson. Brothers Charles Hoover Jackson, William Taft Jackson, Joe Jackson, Jerry Boone Jackson and half brothers Clayton Barefoot, Daniel Barefoot and half sister Ruby Barefoot. Celebration of Charlie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday August 28th 2018 at Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church 8991 NC Highway 27 West, Benson, North Carolina. The service will be officiated by Reverend Betty Cha Parker, with special prayer and remarks by Reverend Mark Fields and the Reverend Don Davis. Burial will follow at the Devotional Gardens 5665 Fairground Road Dunn, North Carolina. Mr. Charlie is survived by his current wife Ruth House Jackson of Dunn, North Carolina. Daughters Brenda Brinson and husband Clifton, Belinda Tart and husband Donnie Sr., Betty Charlene Parker and husband Dale all of Dunn North Carolina. Sister Fannie Beasley of Coats, North Carolina. Grandchildren Betty G. Brinson of Coats, Donnie Lee Tart Jr. and wife Ashley of Coats, Jennifer Hamilton of Dunn, Michelle Tart of Coats, and Jesse Harvey and wife Jessica of Dunn. Great-grandchildren Jenna Walden, Camden Tart, Rylee Tart, Lawson Harvey. His family will be receiving family and friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m with funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 28th at the Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church and other times at the home of Belinda and Donnie Tart, 268 Bernice Tart Lane, Dunn.
