On Monday, March 18, 2024 at Sampson Regional Medical Center, Clinton, NC, our beloved Kenneth Ray Henry transitioned into eternal rest. He was born on November 28, 1961 in Sampson County to the late Verlie “June Bug” Monk & Mary Helen Henry Monk. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Verlie Monk Sr. & Effie L. Williams Monk and his maternal grandparents Luther Henry and El Dorothy Monk Henry.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church, 4721 Bearskin Rd, Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
“Kenny-Ray”, as he was fondly called, received his public education in the Sampson County Public Schools. At an early age, he joined Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church. Kenny-Ray rededicated his life to Christ under the tenure of Rev. Quinton I. Thomas. Kenny-Ray was a former employee of Dubose Steel of Roseboro, NC; Martin Meat Company of Godwin, NC; and Fayetteville Observer of Fayetteville, NC.
Visitation will take place 2:00-6:00 pm, with family present 5:00-6:00 pm, Friday, March 29, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.
He was a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold. Ho loved his family and friends. Kenny-Ray had a quiet demeanor, however; he would offer his listening ear and share his thoughts in a positive way. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his fiancée, Dorothy “Doris” Hickman of the home; daughter, Kellie Hickman; granddaughter, Sharae Owens of the home; sister, Cynthia Diane Williams (Donald) of Salemburg, NC; brother, Stanley Monk (Kim) of Clinton, NC; aunts: Debbie (Willie) Murphy, Judy Williams, Crosby Monk, and Alice Williams, all of Salemburg, NC, Willie Anna Parker of Clinton Elaine Owens (Jerry) of Roseboro, NC, and Lou Alice Taylor of Atlantic City, NJ; uncles:James Harold Henry (Blondie) of Clinton, NC, Ricky Henry of Salemburg, NC, and Anthony Henry (Bridgette) of Roseboro, NC; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
