Stephen "Steve" Lee Ehrenfeld, a native of Virginia, was born on December 23, 1967. He has been a resident of North Carolina since 1993. Steve lost his courageous 10 month battle and passed away on October 23, 2014 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC due to complications from a debilitating and serious illness.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00pm on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Roseboro Fire Department with Rev. Bobby Herring officiating, burial will follow in the Roseboro Cemetery with full Fireman Honors.

Steve graduated from Fauquier High School in Warrenton, VA in 1986. Being a part of a fire department was Steve's greatest passion. He began fire-fighting at a very early age as a junior fire fighter at the Orlean Volunteer Fire Department in Orlean, VA. This was shortly followed by him serving on several other departments in Virginia and North Carolina and holding numerous positions in those departments over the years. Steve also became EMT certified early on and served on a couple of rescue squads, as well. His admiration and commitment to his community helped those in need of these types of services for the last 30 years. He had recently served as a Lieutenant with the Roseboro Fire Department and will always be remembered for his selfless acts of kindness, his bravery, his leadership, and his loyalty.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Dennis, and his grandfather, Wilmer "Shorty" Marshall. He is survived by his step-father, Edward Dennis of Warrenton, VA; his grandmother, Bertha Marshall of Warrenton, VA; one sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Mike Brown of Warrenton, VA; one aunt and uncle, Jean and Teal Queen, Jr. of Remington, VA; two nieces, Tiffany Crumpton of Pelham, AL and Mandy Brown of Radford, VA; two nephews, Todd Owens of Reston, VA and Chris Brown of Warrenton, VA; one great-niece, Kendall Crumpton of Pelham, AL; special friends: Sandie Monore and Samantha Monroe of Salemburg, numerous cousins and his many Fire Department families and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Roseboro Fire Department.
In luie of flowers memorials can be made to SECU Hospice House at 426 Hospital Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.
