Warsaw,
Henry Ward Carlton 68 of 752 Johnson Church Road passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro.
Born in Duplin County, North Carolina in 1948 to the late
Ward House and Mildred Gurley Carlton, Henry worked in farming most of his life, he farmed tobacco, corn, soybeans and cabbage and was known for having grown the best mixed sweet corn. Henry enjoyed his Thursday night cookout with grilled chicken. There were many things Henry enjoyed doing but golfing was his favorite, he taught one of his grandsons' Jonathan to golf. He loved to golf with Jonathan, it was their weekend hobby, Henry's special friends he golfed with were Jerry Cook, Jonathan Barnette, Allen Loyd Smith, Joe Matthews, Melvin Ward, Cooper Goff, his brothers Rex and Johnny.
A Celebration of Henry's Life will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Mt. Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 130 Ed Edmundson Rd, with Pastor Jeff Dail officiating.
